1. Mow the Lawn Frequently
You want your home looking great and ready to move as soon as you put it on the market. Your lawn will grow all spring and even faster once summer arrives, so make sure you mow it on a regular basis. Adding landscaping touches to attract buyers can’t hurt either.
2. Be Ready To Show Anytime
Many people have their summer activities all planned out and may only include viewing homes as an afterthought. If your availability doesn’t fit into their summer schedule, that activity is the one that is likely to be dropped. Plan out your summer now to make sure you are available as often as possible for when people want to view the home, whether that means weekends, mornings, evenings, or anytime in between.
3. Create More Living Space
A clever summer home showing hack is to move some of your furniture outside. If you have furniture that would be appropriate for the patio or backyard, move it out there and leave it out for the summer. The weather should be nice so there’s no reason not to have some furniture outside, and it will make your home feel more spacious inside as well. Just be sure to be aware of when rain is in the forecast so you can cover up any items that are not water-resistant.
4. Make Sure The Air Conditioner Is Working
The spring is a good time to call your HVAC professional to schedule annual maintenance. The last thing you want is to find out your AC is down just when people are coming to see your home in the height of the summer heat. You can be sure that no one will stick around to view a hot, stuffy home.
5. Learn To Make Lemonade…
…Or iced tea, or other cool drinks that you can have out to offer potential buyers who are viewing your home. Who knows, people may escape into your home for cool air and a cold drink on a hot day, and end up buying your house!
